Can't wait to go home!! It has been 6 months!

Curtains
No, not for the house - but for the CUBE!
This winter I made a few "curtains" for me and my team mates. Since then I have been getting some request. Tuesday I got FIVE requests! After I am done with these 5 it will make 17 that I have made totla. I need to up my price. I was just doing it for the price of the product but it takes a lot of time to go to the store to get the products and then to sew it and iron it and put it all together. Now I am nice person but...it's getting to be a lot. And now that they have become so popular at work if I get anymore request, I am going to add a few $$$.
The bright green one is mine. They come in handy for when you a crunching numbers and do not want to be bothered or if you just need to hide for a few mins while you shove a sandwich in your mouth just to get back to work. I made one last week for a "pink diva" and added sticky jewels all around the letter. She LOVED it! It was so her!!

I would have added more pictures however it took me about 30 mins just to for these 2. The frustrations with blogger!!

Boring..but wait
Again, I am still here but my life has been pretty boring lately. Work has not slowed down any. I feel like all I do is sleep, eat, work, repeat. I am so tired when I get home I just crash. I wish I had something fun to post about but I am BORING. No trips, no kids, no plans except to sleep, eat, work, repeat.
BUT... We are planning to go to the beach for the day on Sunday! I am soooo excited. We have not been to the beach since the honeymoon. How crazy is that? We are going home to Richmond the first weekend of August. August 8th is my Grandma's birthday. She is going to be 91. AMAZING! We have not been back to Richmond since August. That is 6, I repeat, 6 months since we have been home. I have definitely missed it! I cannot wait to see my parents, my grandmother, my other family and my friends! Now if only my brother were going to be there. My brother got engaged a few weeks ago. We are most excited for him and Angela. After dating for 5 years, it was about time. They just moved to Boulder, CO. My brother says it's awesome. They are talking about getting married there. A trip to Boulder looks like will be coming in the near future.
Also, my parents are talking about going to the beach for a long weekend this fall. I can't wait until the pick the weekend, the beach and the place! My parents love to vacation and my parents, my mom especially, loves the beach. And I am most excited that they want us to spend the time with them. A lot of times they go farther away where we can not get to easily but this time they are looking for somewhere in SC. This will be easy and not that expensive for us.
With that being said I hope to have some news/photos for some future blog post as I know I have neglected it lately.

Still here
I am still here. I did not give up the blog. Work has been C-R-A-Z-Y. I am averaging 50 hour work weeks and am completely exhausted when I get home. I was hoping things might die down, but I am not so sure with people being out for summer vacations. All I can say is I guess it's job security. Hopefully I can get back into some blogging here soon.

Blogging
I am sad to say that I am thinking about giving up the blog. Here are my reasons:
1) I CANNOT seem to upload pictues EVER!
2) Not that many people read my blog. And those who do, have their own blog. And we blog about the same things a lot of the time.
I am torn..
But do not worry, if I give up blogging (for now) I will continue to read everyone elses blog, and I can always start back!

mama don't take my kodachrome away
Here are the rules:
1) open your first photo folders
2) got to the 10th picture
3) post the photo and explain the story behind it
This picture if from July 4th 2007 at Holly and Grady's old house in Blythewood. Devin had brought Bocci ball and we played all over their yard. It was funny because Salsa kept wanting to pick up the ball in the backyard so we had to move to the side and front yards. Holly is looking so serious about playing and Lindsay and Grady were excited about something, or being goofy! It was a fun day!!

What is your decor style?
So.. ever since we moved into the house I have been trying to decide what I like, what I don't like and what works. Half the stuff I have put in here, I want to change. What I thought would look good, doesn't always. I also feel it is very dark in here. Oh.. if I had the money.
So the past week I have been trying to decide what my decorating style is. I took 5 quizzes on the internet. They asked me questions from my personal taste, to my attitude and even to rate pictures of rooms. These are my results:
1) Country French
2) Contemporary/Casual
3) Eastern Boho
4) Urban Sophisticate
5) This one was a mix - Nantucket Style 40%, Cottage Chic 30%, Traditional Country 30%
Not ONE was the same! I have no idea what that means. And it did NOT answer my question! So without a answer, I am not sure what styles I should lean towards so at least everything in the house flows. I do not want one room country french and another room Eastern Boho.
You might as well call it around the world at the Falls house if that is the case.
My question to you is.. what is your decorating style? And, if you have been to my house, what do you think my decorating style is, if any?
Truly, I wish I could start all over....

Deck the Walls
Mr. and Mrs. Falls were here last night and brought me a birthday present! Mrs. Falls said that Nathan (my nephew) saw it and said "Hey, it's Tank" so they bought it for me. I absolutely love it! I mean I am a pug fanatic! I look most forward to hanging it in the guest room somewhere. And its perfect since I already have orange and green in there.
Meanwhile, earlier this week I was looking for other stuff to hang in the guest room. I found these and Michael said we could get them in the next couple of months! I CANNOT wait!!

Sick Sickly
So today I missed work for the first time in over a year for being sick :( I guess I was do. I have chest and head congestion. I am coughing, blowing my nose and feel like I may have/have had a slight fever here and there. My eyes are tired. Tank has been a great companion today.
The worst thing about this is my best friend back home gets married on Saturday. Please pray for a quick recovery from this cold for me. I HAVE to be better by this weekend there is too much to do and I want to have a good time!
Did I mention I hate being sick? blah... so bored... hopefully I will feel better in the morning to make it into work tomorrow.
And Mike has been great taking care of me! I guess he is paying me back for his New Year's battle with the stomah flu where I took care of him.

WHoah Listen to the Music
There is no doubt in my mind that music is one of the most uplifting things in the world(after Pugs of course). I can have the terrible, horrible, no good very bad day (like Alexander) and I can put on a great song like Build me up Buttercup and I have completely forgotten (or almost) about what has made me so upset. There are some songs, that really make no sense (to me at least) but are still amazingly fun to listen to. For example We built this city on Rock n Roll. I listen to this song on my ipod and I want to scream at the top of my lungs "Macaroni plays the Mamba, listen to the radio..." but seriously what does that have to do with anything? I don't know but i LOVE IT!
The power of song fascinates me. I can hear a lot of songs and relate them to an event, or a memory. For example, I can not listen to Respect and not think of dancing in the kitchen with my mom and singing into spoons.
Also, you may or may have not noticed, but I like to use lyrics from songs as my post titles.
Songs don't just give me memories of doing things when that song was playing, but I remember my dad telling me the history behind songs. For example Sweet Home Alabama. I will always remember my dad telling me how the part that says "Well, I hope Neil Young will remember A Southern man don't need him around anyhow" is an answer to two songs Neil Young wrote called "Southern Man" and "Alabama" that talks about racism in the South. Another song, Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven was written after his son fell to his death from a window at the age of 4. Before these stories were told to me, I always just thought they were great songs. Then, I heard the history behind them and it made them even greater.
Some other things I think that are funny about songs, is they don't have to be super hits by a major artist. There are theme songs to tv shows that make me just as happy. Just the other day I was singing the theme song to Fraggle Rock. I could not get "Dance your cares away, worries for another day, let the music play, down at Fraggle Rock" out of my head. Seriously, how catchy is that tune? Who ever wrote that, is a genius. Or how about the Lion King? Hakuna Matata. I may have only been 11 when the movie came out, but I will still sing a good Hakuna Matata to make my day better if need be.
I do keep bringing a lot of my musical tastes back to my parents. However, they are not big hippies are anything, I believe they just like music. You know how when you were a teenager and you would drive your car and your parents would tell you not to listen to your music too loud. I remember one day getting in my mom's van. I was taking it somewhere. I turned on the car and the song Jump (For my Love) by the Pointer Sisters, was BLARING out of my mom's dodge caravan speakers. It was hilarious.
My dad has also not just made me appreciate music but also the instruments. I hear a lot more of the instruments and beats than I use to. Some great examples are Domino by Van Morrison, Sell Out by Reel Big Fish and my dad's all time favorite My Old School by Steely Dan. (see picture below of my dad dancing to this song at our wedding). The instruments you can hear (mostly trumpets, sax and trombones) are outstanding! Everyone always talks about Jimi Hendrix and his guitar playing skills (which I know are unbelievable) but you never hear much about the guy who can play a mean trumpet!
That is my dad's brother, my uncle Tom next to him. It doesn't hurt to have a beer or 6 in you to do this at their age!
So my question is, what are some of your favorite songs to listen to? What songs put you in a great mood and what memories do you have?

One Year Anniversary!
This past Sunday (1/17) was our 1 year wedding anniversary! I cannot believe it has been a whole year! Time sure does fly...
Saturday we decided to go to Newberry and visit Enoree Vineyards. When we pulled up this is what we saw.... we weren't so sure about going in...
The Vineyards were bare. I should have known seeing that it was January. I guess I wasn't thinking.
When we went inside we went inside, it turned out to be somewhat cozy.
The couple that owns the Vineyard were so super nice! We were glad to find out that we were going to make it out of there alive! We tasted quite a few wines. They were all very sweet (which I like). As you can tell from the top of the picture below they are in the construction phase. This couple is living their dream. They are paying for things for the Vineyard and have big plans for it! They even showed us a drawing of how they want it to look. I hope they get everything they want. How awesome just to do what you love!!
Saturday night we went to dinner at Hampton Street Vineyards. We had more wine and enjoyed a delicious meal and time together!
Sunday night we decided we would cook at home and have a nice dinner with our China, our toasting flutes from the wedding (filled with wint from the vineyards) we even lit our unity candle set from the wedding. It was very nice.
While waiting for some of the dinner to finish cooking we looked back on the day just one year ago... and then our honeymoon. Boy do I wish I were somewhere warm like that again today!
After dinner we finally got to eat the top of our cake. Let me tell you, the tip we got to pop a bag of popcorn and put it in with the cake before wrapping it up for the year must have done the trick. There was no frostbite or moisture isssues. The popcorn had absorbed it all!
The cake was Delicious! I would have never known if someone had given it to me that it was a year old!!
We look forward to many more Anniversarys! Too bad there is not a cake top for all of them!

Uploading Pictures
I tried all day yesterday and three times this evening to upload pictures to my blog. After picking out the pictures I push the upload button and it just sits there forever. I don't understand! I hope it works soon! I have Anniversary photos to share. Is anyone else having this problem?
