I Love Lamp

And our new furniture!!

We were lucky to be able to have a return/reselct with Rooms to go. We were not exactly thrilled with our old furniture. We found out that since it was still under warranty we could actually switch it and get something completely different as long as it was the same price. We decided to get something that was not so bulky and masculine. It's a little more formal but I like it!! We found the rug at walmart, which seems to tie it all together.

And since we now have two end tables, we needed another lamp. So.. I found these at TJ Maxx for only 20 a piece. And do not worry the cigar box lamp has been moved to the man room, I did not throw out my hard work!

The lamps are red and gold and really seem to go with the pillows that came with the sofa. Mike even likes them!!

And a little late, but last weekend we bought two matching lamps at the pottery to go with our bedroom decor.

It has been a lot of fun redecorating!!

What to do...

Okay, I have been moving things around I cannot decide what to with a bunch of my wedding stuff. I would like to display some things, but I do not want to over do it. And, as most of you know all my stuff has snowflakes on it, so I am not sure if it will look weird or not.

Here is what I have to work with:

-A frame where you put the invite in one side and a picture in the other
- a copy of the program (do not have to have it displayed)
- guest book
- pen that goes with the guest book
- ring bearer pillow
- flower girl basket (although not in my possession just yet)
- Unity Candle
- the 2 candles used to light the unity candle
- a book jamie made me with pictures from the wedding
- a guest book from the rehearsal dinner (which, I was not expecting to have one..)
and of course plenty of pictures some in a box, some in a flip frame...

I had originally had it all on top of this china buffet thing in our "dining room". I have now moved it all to a shelf over by the window. Everything just looks so cluttered.

Suggestions???.....

Productive Weekend

This past weekend Michael and I used our 10% off coupon for the rest of the things we wanted to purchase off our registry. We ended up getting all the new bedding materials I have been wanting for a long long time!! We also got 2 new shower curtains and a few other things.

And like most couples, we celebrated Valentines Day. This Valentines day was special because it was our first Valentines Day as husband and wife. We decided that we would stay in and cook dinner ourselves because it was a saturday night and Valentines is always crazy. Mike brought me flowers and candy in the morning along with breakfast. We then headed to Bed Bath and Beyond to buy all of our stuff! We ate lunch at Copper River Grill and then stopped by the Old Timey Meat Market in Lexington where we picked up some filets. We cooked the filets and some twice baked potatoes and had some wine all while using our new china for the first time!! It was a really nice night in.

goodbye candyland

as the holidays come to an end, the office candyland has to be taken down :( here are some pictures for a little tribute to the candyland that made holidays in a cube world so fun!! i wish we could decorate like that for every holiday!!
please notice the pieces of candy hanging from the ceiling!

Ok there were a lot of pictures and things I wanted to post about before xmas, but it doesn't look like im going to get around to that. I hope to post when i get back from richmond. For now, I am off to work for the day and then off to richmond till sunday!! And thanks to Grady for letting Mike off to come with me so we can enjoy xmas together and so we can get some wedding stuff done. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!
